Photo London is a unique photography event featuring the world's leading photography galleries and publishers, alongside an innovative public programme supported by the LUMA Foundation.
Produced by Candlestar, a series of exhibitions, installations and live events in and around Somerset House from May 21-24th is all bound together in the exhibition design work of GRAPHIC THOUGHT FACILITY. Art Director Huw Morgan designed the branding around the concept of photograms as a developing, changing series of captured moments, exposure and composition.
The scale of the event within Somerset house was brought into focus by the implementation of 5 huge LED screens on which subtly animated versions of the poster identity are played out in a series of perpetual loops. Studio AKA worked with GTF to bring the posters to life and Animator Bill Porter brought his considered eye to deftly interpreting the fleeting photograms that form the exhibition identity. Some additional utilisation online, on the London Underground and in other site specific screens compliment the core screens on the exhibition site.
